September 29th EV Fleet Webinar Overview

On September 29th, the Electric Nation South Dakota EV Club hosted an engaging webinar that brought together industry leaders, Tribal representatives, and community stakeholders to explore the growing opportunities for electric vehicle fleets across Tribal Nations. Experts from Rivian, Kenworth, Harbinger, and Open Access Technology International (OATI) shared insights on emerging EV technologies, commercial fleet options, and charging infrastructure solutions.

Bringing a valuable real-world perspective to the discussion, Reyna Lussier highlighted her experience operating a VW ID. Buzz for the Gwayakochige-Wigamig - Red Lake Nation Youth Shelter, demonstrating how electric transportation already serves Tribal communities.

To strengthen engagement and expand the reach of future initiatives, Native Sun Community Power Development's Electric Nation program developed a comprehensive Tribal outreach map identifying key departments, community facilities, administrative contacts, and governance offices across South Dakota's Tribal Nations. This resource establishes a foundation for more coordinated outreach, stronger relationships, and continued collaboration as Tribal communities explore transportation solutions that align with their unique priorities and needs.
